Matthew K. Joy

Matthew K. Joy is a Partner and Trial Attorney at The Dominguez Firm. With over a decade of experience litigating difficult personal injury cases, Attorney Joy has helped hundreds of accident victims in California recover millions in compensation. He’s a fierce advocate of road safety and promotes the firm’s values by delivering outstanding legal representation and client service, as part of the personal injury trial team.

Matthew is known for handling complex cases involving wrongful deaths, amputations, brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, paraplegic injuries, auto accidents and premises liability; as well, cases of serious accidents involving trucks, motorcycles, pedestrians, bicycles, drowning, construction and elevators; and many other personal injury cases. Seeking justice for his clients is Attorney Joy’s top priority.

While still in law school, Matthew joined The Dominguez Firm as a law clerk. Now, he’s a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum, a highly thought-after and exclusive attorney association.

Matthew earned his bachelor’s degree from Columbia University with a double major in English and Spanish language literature. He earned his Juris Doctor from Southwestern Law School. He is licensed to practice law in California and Texas.

Among his many accolades is inclusion in the 2024 Super Lawyers list. Previously, he was selected to the Super Lawyers Top 100 Southern California Rising Stars List from 2016-2020. The most notable attorneys from that list are named to the Super Lawyers Up and Coming 100 List as well. Attorney Joy has achieved this distinction from 2018-2020.

Matthew Joy is an avid traveler, which has allowed him to learn the language, culture, and customs of the people of Latin America. He supports numerous charitable causes, across California.
