Born in Pasadena and raised in East Los Angeles, Richard has deep roots in the Southern California community. His decision to become an attorney was influenced by his family's respect for the legal profession and his own experiences volunteering at the Domestic Abuse Self-Help Center (DASH) at the Pomona Courthouse. There, he assisted victims of domestic abuse in obtaining restraining orders, an experience that solidified his commitment to advocating for all sectors of the community.
