Attorney Analicia Avila of The Dominguez Firm Recognized by Top Verdict
We’re proud to announce that a member of our legal team, trial attorney Analicia Avila, has been recognized in Top Verdict’s Top 50 Personal Injury Verdicts in California for 2025. This achievement stems from her work securing a $6,056,052 verdict in Heravi v. City of Los Angeles, a case that highlighted what happens when a city fails to provide its residents with safe infrastructure.
The case involved Payman Heravi, a wedding videographer whose life changed in December 2019 when he tripped on a severely uneven section of sidewalk along Ventura Boulevard in Woodland Hills. The buckled pavement caused him to fall and seriously injure his shoulder. Despite three surgeries and years of physical therapy, Heravi was left unable to return to the work he loved. Making matters worse, city employees had been aware of the damaged sidewalk but had failed to repair it.
Attorney Avila stepped in and fought hard for Heravi, successfully arguing that the City of Los Angeles had a duty to maintain safe public walkways and had neglected that responsibility. The jury agreed, returning a verdict of over $6 million on his behalf.
In addition to this latest accolade, she has also been included on the Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch list and the Super Lawyers Rising Stars list multiple years in a row. Those professional honors, combined with this verdict, reflect the skill and dedication attorney Avila brings to every client she represents.
At The Dominguez Firm, we believe that when powerful institutions like city governments fall short, residents deserve a strong advocate in their corner. Attorney Avila’s work in this case exemplifies that commitment. She took on a challenging government liability case and delivered a result that brought her client real justice.
We’re incredibly proud of Analicia and grateful to be recognized for one of the top verdicts in California. It’s a reflection of our entire legal team’s passion for fighting for the rights of those who need it most.
