Los Angeles Attorney Juan J. Dominguez Selected as Honored Guest of the Special Olympics Summer Games

Los Angeles, Calif., June 6, 2018 — On Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 9:30 am, the 49th Annual Special Olympics of Southern California (SOSC) Summer Games kicks off its 50th Year with opening ceremonies at California State University, Long Beach’s track and field stadium.

During the opening ceremonies, honored guests will include Los Angeles personal injury attorney Juan J. Dominguez, CEO and Managing Partner of The Dominguez Firm, who donates to the SOSC and dozens of other charities throughout Southern California and Mexico.

Mr. Dominguez said, “I am a strong believer and supporter of people that overcome their challenges and, in turn, provide inspiration to others.  The athletes at the Special Olympics, with their spirit, resolve, and determination, provide such a great example for everyone.”

Mr. Dominguez continued, “I graduated from Cal State, Long Beach and returning here to support the great work of the Special Olympics of Southern California is a true honor and blessing for me.”

In addition to participating in the opening ceremonies, Mr. Dominguez will also participate in the medal and ribbon ceremonies of various events and reminds everyone that, “The power of giving not only transforms your life, but the life of others.  Giving may be in financial form, but it can also come in the form of time, encouragement, knowledge, compliments, thoughts, kindness, smiles, and love.”

More than 1,100 athletes will compete in track and field, basketball, bocce, and swimming.  Additionally, the Summer Games will feature flag football as a demonstration sport.  The Summer Games are free and open to the public and supported by more than 3,000 volunteers.  It is expected that over 10,000 local dignitaries, sponsors, and spectators will attend the Games.
