Congratulations to Sheba Candor, the winner of The Dominguez Firm’s Fall 2025 Legal Scholarship! Sheba currently attends the University of San Diego School of Law. Upon graduation, she plans to pursue a career as a public interest attorney advocating for traditionally underrepresented groups.
Sheba’s path to law school reflects extraordinary courage and resilience. After the devastating loss of her younger sister, she transformed her grief into purpose. As a young mother, she overcame significant obstacles and completed her education while raising her daughter. Her work as a paralegal and law firm administrator deepened her understanding of the legal system, motivating her to pursue a career in law.
Today, Sheba’s role as a San Diego County Juvenile Justice Commissioner provides her with a unique perspective as she works toward her law degree. Her focus on juvenile advocacy and restorative justice underscores her commitment to helping at-risk youth overcome challenges similar to those she once faced. Upon learning of her selection, Sheba shared, “I am deeply honored to be selected. Thank you for your generosity and for supporting students like me in our educational and professional journeys. I am truly grateful for your investment in my future and for the opportunities this support makes possible.”
